November 10, 2021: HRS Consulting, Inc. has recently been awarded multiple VA contracts:

Department of Veterans Affairs Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS) IDIQ — The VA has awarded HRS a single award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide Lean transformation process consulting, training, coaching and implementation support to the VA Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS). Under this five-year IDIQ, HRS will assist the VALBHS Quality Management Team with the development and seamless integration of a Lean and High Reliability Organization (HRO) cultures. HRS Subject Matter Experts will train and coach VALBHS Executive Leadership and Process Improvement Teams to further create and sustain a culture that minimizes waste in every process, procedure, and task through a sustainable system of continuous improvement. As a result of HRS’s support, VALBHS will further enhance their commitment to Veteran quality of care and improve clinical outcomes. Our coaches will ensure that VALBHS can independently maintain HRO, value streams, rapid process improvement events, and strategic initiatives to deliver a greater quality of care for our country’s heroes, and an increased return on investment for taxpayers.

Department of Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) Warriors to Workforce (W2W) Peak Performance Training — The VAAA awarded HRS a contract deliver peak performance training/coaching for the VA’s W2W Program that will result Veteran interns overcoming any physical, psychological, or emotional challenges to reach higher levels of performance, easing transition from the military into the civilian environment. HRS Subject Matter Experts coach Veterans to enable them to self-regulate mental, emotional, and physiological responses in any situation to achieve extraordinary long-term performance. We help Veterans learn to set and attain goals, to be exceptionally positive and optimistic in outlook, to thrive under conditions of stress and pressure, to maintain focus and concentration amidst distractions, and to envision successful performance and desired outcomes. By the end of the Program, Veteran interns can manage emotions, sustain motivation, think adaptively, maintain focus/attention, achieve emotional resilience, and maintain self-confidence.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Product Effectiveness (PE) Program Office Support  The VHA has awarded HRS a contract to provide mission critical, day-to-day support, performing various measurement assessments and analyses on specially selected health care programs, products, processes, and highest priority VA initiatives to ensure they are effective and/or meet the needs of VHA stakeholders and ultimately provide business value to VHA. Results support VA stakeholders at the highest executive level of VA to measure program effectiveness and make recommendations on improving program performance.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Strategic Planning Summit Support Contract  The VHA has awarded HRS the contract to assist the VHA’s Chief Strategy Office (CSO) with designing, organizing, and executing it’s national 2021 VHA Strategic Planning Summit. The Summit serves to clarify the priority strategies of VHA and set clear process and outcome expectations to ensure alignment of VA Medical Centers (VAMCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), Veterans Integrated Services Networks (VISNs), and Program Office tactics to accelerate progress on milestones and results on the Secretary of Veterans Affairs (SECVA) priorities, VHA Acting Undersecretary for Health (A/USH) priorities, and VHA Long-Range Plan Goals and Objectives.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Professional Health Business Services  HRS will support to VHA’s Product Effectiveness Program Office by providing day-to-day support, performing various measurement assessments and analyses on specially selected health care programs, products, processes, and highest priority VA initiatives to ensure they are effective and/or meet the needs of VHA stakeholders and ultimately provide business value to VHA. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Heathcare Transformation (OHT) — The VHA awarded HRS a contract to provide the OHT with specialized expertise that span all functions of healthcare, specifically: health system transformation and innovation; implementation and operations support; and healthcare business enabling services. HRS will provide triage and planning of emerging or statutorily driven programs and initiatives where the extent of project support cannot be reasonably estimated. 

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Chief Strategy Office (CSO) Strategic Planning Support — The VHA has awarded HRS a contract to assist the VHA’s CSO with regular and recurring meeting support to design and organize continued Long-Range Plan management leading up to the 2022 VHA Strategic Planning Summit. HRS will streamline planning efforts leading from the 2021 VHA Strategic Planning Summit to realize the full potential of the summit work and provide actionable directions for leadership and organizational components through quarterly Strategic Roundtable meetings.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Strategic Planning Contract — The VHA OEM has engaged HRS to provide consulting support to facilitate the development and creation of a three-year strategic plan. VHA OEM coordinates the Comprehensive Emergency Management Program which includes essential VA emergency medical response and support services at the local, regional, and national levels to ensure the health and safety of our Veteran patients and their families, staff, and visitors, and continued delivery of VHA health care services. Furthermore, OEM delivers and coordinates VHA support missions for VHA facilities affected by disasters, and performs missions assigned to the Department of Veteran Affairs by FEMA or U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for response to and recovery from nationally declared emergencies and disasters.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Healthcare Transformation (OHT) and the COVID‐19 Program Executive Office (PEO) Rapid and Agile Response to COVID-19 Support Contract — The VHA has awarded HRS a contract to provide direct expert recommendations and support to the Office of Healthcare Transformation (OHT) and the COVID‐19 Program Executive Office (PEO) in the management of VHA’s Fourth Mission—“to provide health care to Veterans and civilians in an emergency or disaster”—and the response to the COVID‐19 Pandemic.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Nursing Services’ (ONS) Traveling Nurse Corps (TNC) Way Forward Project Support Contract — The VHA has awarded HRS a contract to provide project management and subject matter experts and analysts in the area of civilian and military nurse staffing models. Our experts will provide an analysis of TNC’s current state of operations as well as VHA nursing gap and surge support requirements to develop alternative staffing models for the TNC and recommendations for gap and surge staffing models.
